Since 2008, GRIND London has been pushing thoughtful streetwear designs that are rooted in the subcultures found in the English capital. The spring/summer 2016 collection ‘Capital’ is inspired by the pursuit to gain. Clever mottos and collaged imagery on streetwear basics exist alongside more elaborate pieces like bowling shirts and short-sleeve shirting. We previously covered the fall collection from Canada based Illustrated Example. The Vancouver based label produces their garments in Canada and offers clean-cut high-quality basics without charging a huge premium. The styling utilizes light spring jackets mixed with dry denim, cotton jackets and finished off with sneakers by Adidas and Vans. WTAPS is set to release it’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection. The “EX.32″collection lookbook is a return to a less fitted look and prominently features a range of bomber jackets, cotton outerwear and hiking boots. Shorts, BDUS and distressed denim combine with jerseys, hoodies and work shirts layered under outerwear at times. The collection continues WTAPS trend of moving towards streetwear and away from it’s militant roots.

Summer time is peak Cozy Boyz season and I Love Ugly has put together a collection catering to just that sensibility. The brand is probably best known for it’s comfortable range of joggers (sweatpants) but a new focus is the denim in the collection. Light neutrals and tans are mixed in with patterns like camo and wrinkled fabrics and fuzzy knits. Shadow Project is home to some of Stone Island’s most progressive designs. The spring/summer 2016 collection will appeal to long-time Stone Island fans as well as guys looking to add a solid technical piece into their current wardrobe . The spring/summer 2016 is laced with an array of color options outside of the usual black, white and grey. Some of my favorite pieces include the Anorak, the cargo pants and the long shirting. Graphic tees and a slip-on sneaker round out the selection.

Neighborhood’s new lookbook Spring/Summer 2016 is divided into three distinct sections. The first shows looks that play on military staples and styling. The second is a denim themed, with full outfits of indigo distressed jeans and jackets. The third harkens back to early 1900s American looks, bringing back the types of pieces that may have been worn by craftsmen and factory workers of the era. Earlier this month, Visvim’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection was previewed in SENSE magazine. Now take a look at the official lookbook from the Japanese label. Shot in a scenic Californian modern home, the collection channels the laid-back west coat vibe of the 1970s. Workwear pieces blend in with easy staples and military jackets. Two of most sought after pieces are the insulated noragi and an overcoat adorned with native American inspired graphics. Look for the items to release on the Visvim site and international retailers like SSENSE and Mr.Porter.
Sophnet puts out a flashy video previewing it’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection. We saw some of it previously in this SENSE editorial. Fast editing and neon lights are an effective counter to the eye-catching pieces in this collection set to drop online on January 30.
