DISCOVERED FW13 Runway Tokyo
DISCOVERED is a Japanese brand which has existed since 2001. Designed by Tatsuya Kimura and Sanae Yoshida, the brand began by creating order-made clothes for musicians, DJs, actors, and other artists. For the Fall/Winter 2013 collection, Yoshida and Kimura looked to the art of King Krule art and British subculture as reference points. I recently have become very enamored with quality knits and this collection has them in droves (from short sleeve sweaters to color-blocked cableknit styles). Traditional English looks are given additional flavor through use of color-blocking and layering. There are touches of ‘chav style’ worked into the collection , most noticeably with the Burberry style nova-check pattern featured on several jackets and accessories. The collection comes in practical color palette of beiges, tans, whites which can be mixed into your wardrobe quite easily. GAME Debut Collection Lookbook
I’ve been tracking the progress of GAME for a little while now. The line is the brainchild of Lawrence Punshon. He’s someone with a real unique point of view in menswear and he has been expressing it through his tumblr Internet Flexin for some time. The line is an elevated take on basic streetwear staples, but through high quality materials and printing techniques and all items are made in Melbourne, Australia.
The collection consists of a range of long sleeve shirts with digital prints applied to both the left & right sleeves, as well as the front and back, an all over print t-shirt, a pure silk t-shirt and mesh shorts with prints applied to both the left and right legs. All prints utilising our advanced digital print techniques.

NEPENTHES SS13 “Pattern Chasing” Lookbook
NEPENTHES kills it with this Spring/Summer 2013 lookbook. The Japanese-based consortium incorporates their (Engineered Garments, Needles, and Sonic Labs et al) into this inspired take on Spring. Pattern heavy and brightly colored , the styling displayed here is some of the best I’ve seen thus far this year. Bright greens, blues, and stripes are paired with floral, Hawaiian, camo and paisley prints. It’s nice when a lookbook inspires you to re-invent your wardrobe to match the changing seasons. If you want to ‘pattern chase’ the items found here, keep an eye out for drops at the New York and Japan Nepenthes locations.
visvim SS13 “Dissertation on Symbolism and Our Prayer Flag” Lookbook
visvim presents this lookbook for it’s spring/summer 2013 collection ‘ Dissertation on Symbolism and Our Prayer Flag’. The looks within show the continued evolution of the signature visvim styling. The expected staples make a return but this lookbook is punctuated by the use of voluminous blankets and scarves. Japanese noragi style tops return in a variety of materials , adding some flavor to the more straightforward Americana interpretations that Hiroki has been doing. Supreme x COMME des GARCONS SHIRT 2013 Capsule Collection Lookbook

SENSE Magazine brings this first look at the 2013 Supreme x COMME des GARCONS SHIRT collaboration which is modeled by skate legend Jason Dill and New York downtown queen Chloe Sevigny. The familiar assortment of hats, hoodies, t-shirts, and button-downs are all here. The polka dot print from the first collaboration also returns, but this time it’s super-imposed on a blow up digi-camo print. While camo is quickly being played out through poorly executed pieces , I do enjoy it’s usage in this line . The looks are rounded out by a coach’s jacket and sneakers by Vans. Expect the collection to sell out near instantly on release. Let us know what you think in the comments.
