Aitor Throup is one designer name you probably haven’t heard in a while. Throup made waves seven years ago when he graduated from Royal College of Art , creating a small debut collection that was carried in some of the world’s best shops: Dover Street Market in London and Tokyo, Atelier in New York, H. Lorenzo in Los Angeles, I.T. in Hong Kong and Beijing, and Rail in Brescia, Italy. After a capsule collection with Stone Island and a few installation works around the world he went quiet. He’s been busy this time refining his process and aesthetic.
The fruits of his labor are displayed in this video for the collection New Object Research. The clothes represent an evolution of past works. Pieces such as the Mongolia wool coat have articulated sleeves, zip double breasted closure and detachable hem are shown worn suspended in-air. Pieces are available to purchase from Rail in Italy and more info can be found on the Aitor Throup website.
