A forthcoming documentary film ‘Everyday Street’ directed by Cheryl Dun tells the stories of legendary street photographers such as Ricky Powell, Martha Cooper, Jamel Shabazz, and Jamel Freedman who captured everyday life throughout their careers. Now that street photography has become popularized through the evolution of streetstyle (The Sartorialist et al) it’s refreshing to see a documentary that highlights the grime, grafitti and slices of life of a bygone era. ‘Everyday Street’ will premier at Canada’s Hot Docs International Film Festival.
