In the flurry on Black Friday sales, the Arc’teryx sale is a little more serene and less hectic than what other retailers are offering. After a period of relative quiet by Kanye standards, Mr.West has returned with a furious album promo cycle and is hyping a return to music making with his forthcoming album Donda. After an extended hiatus from Instagram he returned with an outfit post of sorts, sharing a photo of this Bottega Veneta Jacket and and black leather Saint Laurent jeans. Stock levels have already started disappearing from the internet unsurprisingly but it’ll be telling whether he continues his focus on his personal style without even as much as sharing a fit pic. Some retailers that have a similar model Bottega Veneta include Mytheresa , SSENSE and Mr.Porter.
Visvim is notoriously expensive and while there was hopes that a new diffusion line from them would cater to a lower price point that’s not exactly the case here. Visvim sport is very minimal and surprisingly lacks color. The website explains that “VISVIM SPORT is a new idea of utility wear suitable for exercise and outdoor activity that is uniquely visvim.” A good example of the philsosphy of the line is this anorak, it’s light and made for easy wear and comfortable movement. The GORE-TEX® SHAKE DRY material keeps it light and breathable.

Any associations you might have with Nike eyewear might be subverted by these sporty lenses. The Nike Windshield Elite sunglasses are an ultra-lightweight option that you can wear outdoors while working out but honestly they look incredible paired with any number of sportswear/streetwear fits. I really like this orange and white colorway, but there’s some other fun options as well. The Nike Low Light Tint brightens shadows and enhances ambient light at night so they also do have a functional aspect. Available at Nike Vision and other eyewear outlets.
The simple beige colorway dubbed ‘Acorn’ has finally made a return. A grail for my OG Nike AF1 collectors, it still looks as good as ever. The low AF1 features a canvas and buffed leather upper. The sneaker also features a padded collar and a grained leather Swoosh appliqué at sides.

This is an unexpected design from New Balance, the Niobium Concept 2 sandals come in this nice tan and chocolate brown colorway that is inspired by trail running and hiking. The custom Vibram outsole is a highlight , giving confidence that these won’t feel flimsy after a handful of wears. Mesh and suede provides breathability and a classic look.

Adapture is a new label out of western Canada with a focus around providing comfy and easy to wear basics. Right now the brand is focused around t-shirts offering up long and short sleeve designs with a soft, moisture-wicking material. At a medium weight cotton/poly blend the shirts come in three distinct fits: slim, standard and relaxed fit. I really like the extra movement and room provided by the relaxed fit personally.

A serene and simplistic collection in many ways, UC spring/summer 2021 is a breath of fresh air. The designer was inspired by Japanese tea ceremonies and the garb that was associated with it from robe-coats to geta flip-flops. A simple palette of navy, tans, browns and black make this a collection that doesn’t scream out for attention on its own by is meant to be incorporated with an existing wardrobe.
